OmegaMart
In December of 2009 Meow Wolf made one of its most controversial moves ever in handing over complete control of their warehouse space to regional representatives of Omegamart, a subsidiary of multinational pharmaceutical corporation Dramcorp.
During the weekend of December 19th the Meow Wolf building became host to Omegamart's "End of Decade Holiday Clearance Sale." Meow Wolf members were enlisted as staff, stocking shelves with "Fresh" produce and Dramcorp pharmaceutical products such as the dream-eradicating sleep aid "Dramnilate." Art items produced by Meow Wolf members were also on display, though some complained that many of the pieces were obscured by the ubiquitous and garish "Bargain Fiesta" signs.
After only one weekend of operation, Omegamart made the hasty decision to close the store and erase any evidence of their presence. Though financial concerns were cited as the reason for eliminating their only Santa Fe franchise, some suspect it may have been due to several pending consumer lawsuits. Ultimately, the contract was terminated and the space was relinquished to Meow Wolf.
